Artisan Market
So what inspired me at the artisan market? I had three vendors that stood out the most to me during my visit. I even remembered to take pictures this time! On my last Inspiration Day blog, I forgot to take pictures so I left it up to your imagination to picture what I was describing! But I’m gonna help you out this time!
McMath Crafts
My first stop was at my friend, Dorothy’s booth. She had beautiful handmade fabric, thread accessories, and gifts.
Her embroidery work is amazing and she had such a variety of items to choose from at her tent. Along with her embroidery, she also had some large and small reusable bags. I bought a beautiful bag and it ended up being convenient for the rest of my shopping! This cute bag that I purchased had a blue firefly print and a black mesh insert. I saw her bags on sale at our local Craft Pie & Art Bar a couple of weeks ago and almost got one, so I had to purchase one this time! You can find Dorothy on Etsy if you want to check out her other beautiful handmade items!
Mulberry Tree Aprons
As I continued strolling through the market, I came upon my next inspiration. Mulberry Tree Aprons are such a unique idea! This lady takes men’s dress shirts and turns them into Aprons. What a great way to up-cycle a shirt! She told me that she started making these cute aprons for friends at church and they became such a hit, so she decided to start selling them. She had such a variety of designs on hand. The one that I bought reminded me of sherbet ice cream.
I thought these would be a great Christmas gift idea. She gets her shirts from Goodwill and then takes them home and customizes them. The back of the shirt is used to create a tie for the apron and then the front is reinforced to prevent gapping. She had sizes for children and adults. I just loved this new take on a men’s shirts! I might have to raid my husbands closet and try making one!
Dragonfly Craft Shack
The next artisan that caught my eye was Dragonfly Craft Shack. I think the first thing that grabbed my attention was all of the signs she had on display. Right away, I knew that she was a fellow Cricut owner, and I was right! It was fun to visit with her and check out all of her sweet creations. She had a wide variety in her tent as well. The theme was all things created using your Cricut and she had the cutest saying on onesies that caught my eye toward the back of her tent. These drew me into the tent and allowed me to look at the rest of her creations. She also had some cute camping cups that she had applied saying using 651 permanent vinyl. I would have bought one of these for our new camp trailer but they wouldn’t of fit into our cup holders.
However, I did find a great beginner project using your Cricut! This little Tooth Fairy Bag is such a good idea! What Tooth-Fairy would not appreciate finding a tooth secured in this cute small bag? I have heard from a very reliable tooth fairy that sometimes it is tough to find the tooth under the pillows! This little bag would take care of that problem. Wouldn’t these be a fun idea for your local dentist to have for patients! She had bags for both girls and boys that were just adorable!
As you can see this one has the cute little bow added for a girl, but you could add a bow tie for a boy! And the bags you could either make, or I found them on Amazon, Burlap Bags, in a 30 pack for $11.99. So, you could make these tooth fairy pouches for less than $1.00!
Success, Inspiration at the Artisan Market!
