It is time to put Christmas away for another year. As I put my decoration away and took down all of the Christmas cards we received, I thought of a great Inspiration Friday project. Let’s recycle Christmas cards as gift tags. It is fun to cut up the cards and make gift tags for next year’s gifts. I did this last year and loved it because I could write a loving note with plenty of room to write it. The store-bought tags barely leave you enough space to write.
This week’s Inspiration Friday project is easy, and you have everything you need right at home. Save all your Christmas cards you received this year and sort through them. I don’t use the family picture cards. The rest of the cards I cut off the backs and use the fronts of the cards to make lovely gift tags. I put together a tutorial below that will show you three ways to make these tags.
Way #1
Using a punch that I picked up from Hobby Lobby
Way #2
Using Scissors, a hole punch and my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper
Way #3
Using my Cricut Maker, Design Space, and Access.

You can make tags any size you want. I made various sizes with the different techniques listed above. Check out my DIY tutorial on how to Recycle Christmas Cards as Gift Tags below.
You can reuse all occasion cards not just Christmas cards to make gift tags. Another great idea to recycle your cards is to make bookmarks from the cards too! I hope you like this week’s Inspiration Friday project. I would love to see what your tags look like. May sure to tag me on your posts!
