I love doing little things that make my home look better and this DIY mailboxes was an easy project that made a huge impact.
Step #1 Clean Your Mailbox
The first thing that I did was give my mailbox a good clean. My mailbox is under some large trees and it was very dirty!
Step #2 Remove Old Decals
The next thing I did was remove the old worn out numbers on my box.
Step #3 Paint
I decided that after I cleaned my mailbox that it need a fresh coat of paint. I taped off the red flag and then I used a rustoeol metal spray paint to the entire box.
Step #4 Design Your Decal
This was the fun part. I designed by decal I Design Space. I will provide my design in the Resource Page if you would like to use the same design!
Step #5 Apply Your Decal
Prior to applying my decal I did add a clear coat of Krylon Color Master . I tried putting my decal on without the clear coat and it pulled all of the fresh paint off!
Apply transfer tape to your design. I used clear contact paper for my transfer tape. You want to be very careful applying the decal to the mailbox. Take your time and go slow. The fresh paint on the mail box may still pull off so start with a small test area first!
