Our annual girl’s weekend was just around the corner. I needed a gift idea. I thought a Custom Hat would be a great idea this year! You can take a plain baseball cap and add Fabric Mod Podge, Fabric, and design, and you have a custom hat! Each year I make a gift for each of the ladies. One year it was tumblers, and last year it was wine glasses. Do you see a pattern? This year I thought it would be fun to try something new. I found this great custom hat project and decided to put my twist to it using my Cricut. So I hope you like this week’s Inspiration Friday project using Fabric Mod Podge and creating a Custom hat!
This project can be whipped up in under an hour. So grab some Fabric Mod Podge and your favorite fabric, and let’s get making!

Step #1 Custom Hat Design
Pick your design. I used my Cricut to cut both the design and patch. The patch is 3.5 x 3.5. The design is 2.8 by 2.4.
Step #2 Apply Design to Patch
After I weeded my design I used my Create Easy Press to apply it to the patch.
Step #3 Frayed Edge
I like the frayed etch look so I pulled threads around the edges of the patch.
Step #4 Fabric Mod Podge
Apply Mod Podge to the back of your patch. Make sure the you apply it to all of the edges of your design and cover the entire patch.
Step #5 Apply Path to Hat
The last step is to apply the patch to the hat and let it dry!
Just think of all of the occasion you can make a cute hat. Girls weekend get aways are always great but want about a wedding party, or just a cut hat to match an outfit. I can’t wait to see what you create!
