It is hard to believe that we have been living with COVID for almost eight months. I hoped that by now, we would’ve been done with Masks! But we are not, and I thought it would be fun to do a second version of Mask Extenders. They are great ear relievers! My original tutorial was a comfortable extender using my scrap material and my sewing machine. You can find that post HERE! This time I wanted to share a super-easy way to make a No-Sew Mask Extenders!
I have seen a few mask extenders’ variations, and this is just a quick and easy way to use some of your ribbon stash! I love to use my snap kit from Amazon. It makes this project so easy. I purchased the snap kit last year, and it has lots of fun colors.
So let’s get started on learning how to makes these no-sew mask extenders! Check out the video tutorial below or follow the step by step instructions below! You choose how you want to learn to make these no-sew mask extenders!
Supplies
- 5/8″ Ribbon
- 4 Snaps Sets
- Lighter
Step One – Cut Ribbon
I measured the back of my head and determined that a 5-inch extender would work for me. Determine what size will work for you and add 2 inches. I cut a piece of ribbon 7 inches long.
Step Two – Finish Edges
I use a lighter to burn the edges of the ribbon. The burning will make sure the ribbon will not unravel.
Step Three – Add Snaps
Fold in the edges of the extender in 1 inch. Now, insert the snaps 3/4 inch from the edge. Watch the video for more details.Add snaps one both sides of the ribbon.
There you have it! A quick and easy project to help save your ears! I believe that masks will be around for quite a while, so why not make them more comfortable.
