I love to make stickers with my Maker, and now that Cricut’s Design Space released the beta version of the Offset Tool, I think making stickers now is a Game Changer. I’m so excited to show you how easy it is to use!
I had a friend’s grandson who wanted to know if I could make some motorcycle stickers for him. As I was making them, I realized I had not put together a tutorial on using Design Space’s Offset tool. So this week, we will be making some cute bumble bee stickers. It is so easy and not that much different from Cricut’s traditional Cricut Print then Cut – just a couple extra steps before you print!
Sticker Supplies
- Explore Air 2 or Maker
- Printable Vinyl
- Inkjet Printer
- Cricut Mat – LightGrip or StandardGrip
- Fine Point Blade – Comes with your machine

Check out the video tutorial below or follow the step by step instructions below! You choose how you want to learn to make stickers using the offset tool!
Having a subscription to Cricut’s Access allows you to turn any image into a sticker. The Access Subscription gives you thousands of options for stickers or design your own!
Step #1 Select Your Image | Flatten
Once you have determined your image, insert it into your workspace. Then select the entire design and flatten it! Once you flatten the image, you will see one design in the layers panel.
Step #2 Offset Tool
Now it is time to use the Offset tool. Select your design and then click the Offset tool. You will see an options panel appear that will allow you to select the offset width and round or square corners. I like to use .12 for my offset width but, you might want a different thickness. You want to make sure the offset surrounds the entire design and there are no holes or gaps. Once you have the thickness you like, click “Apply” to finalize the offset.
Step #3 Change Colors
The offset feature automatically comes in black. You can change it to any color. I like to use white. Once you change color, select the entire image, including the offset, and click “Flatten.”
Step #4 Resize
Before we resize our sticker I like to insert a rectangle the same size that Design Space allows us to “Print then Cut,” which is 6.75” x 9.25”. Now you can arrange your images on the rectangle, duplicate, and resize as needed. Once you have the images aligned, you no longer need the rectangle. You can either delete it or hid it. Then your last step is to select all of your images and attached them. Attaching them will ensure that Design Space does not rearrange them in the next step. Now it is time to click “Make It.” Make sure everything looks good, then click “Continue.” You will be prompted to print the design onto your paper (be sure to load sticker paper).
Step #5 Print
Click Send to Printer. Select your printer. Then turn on the bleed option to minimize white borders around your image—Click System Dialog to override the default settings and use the printer settings on your printer. Select the Media type that matches your print material. As an example, for the stickers paper I use gloss. Select the highest quality of the print. Load your sticker paper into your printer. Follow your print direction for the direction that you load your sticker paper. My printer shows to load the sticker paper facing down. Click Print
Step #6 Cut Stickers
After your design prints, place the sticker paper on the cutting mat and load it into your machine. Select your material from the listing in Design Space. I select Sticker Paper. Press the flashing “Go” button to cut your stickers.
I love my Maker! You can do so many things with it, and now with the offset option, stickers are a breeze. What types of stickers are you going to make? Make sure to tag me on your projects. I love to see what everyone is creating. It inspires me to keep creating!
