The Mesh Ribbon Wreath is a great creative way to decorate for any time of the year. This wreath can be made using red and tan, my favorite colors to use on Valentine’s Day, or you could switch it up to give your décor a unique effect. Mesh ribbon comes in various colors and textures, so endless possibilities exist! You could create something special for each holiday with the Mesh Ribbon Wreath. Imagine how beautiful it would look on your front door or hanging on your living room wall! Crafting with Mesh Ribbon is a simple way to elevate any space and show off your creativity all year!
Cut Mesh Ribbon
The first step is to cut your mesh ribbon into strips. I used 5.5 inch-width mesh ribbon, so I cut my strips into 6-inch strips. I recommend cutting at least 50 strips of your primary color so that you have enough material for your wreath.
Mesh ribbon is a fun, versatile craft material, and it’s incredibly easy to make even strips with the help of a 6×6 piece of cardboard! To cut my mesh ribbon into strips, I must wrap the roll around the piece of cardboard and slice each side. Before I knew it, my mesh ribbon had been transformed into perfect 5.5”” by 6”” strips, ready for whatever craft project I could think up! Cutting mesh ribbon this way makes crafting much simpler without compromising precision or quality.
Create Heart Center Base
I was so excited to start making my heart-shaped wreath! To begin, I took a Plastic Needlepoint Canvas White Plastic Mesh Sheet and used scissors to cut the perfect shape for the center of my wreath. Once I had it ready, I simply attached it to the metal wreath base using zip ties – so easy and fast! This Plastic Mesh Sheet was just the strength to create a foundation for my heart-shaped wreath.
Create a Center for the Wreath
Crafting beautiful mesh ribbon roses for your wreath is easier than ever! You can quickly create a stunning rose center with the right materials and just a few simple steps. Start by grabbing one of the 5.5 x 6-inch mesh ribbon strips and folding it into a triangle. Then roll one end of the triangle to the other, forming what will soon be your rose center.
When you have achieved perfection, adhere it to the middle of your white canvas plastic mesh sheet with a zip tie.
Tie Ribbons Onto the Wreath Form
Now that the center of your project is complete, it’s time to add the leaves. Grab two 5.5 X 6-inch strips and fold them again into a triangle shape, cinching up the tip about 2 inches and securing it onto the white plastic mesh.
Pull the ends of that triangle around the center and secure it with a dab of glue, using clips to keep everything in place until dry. I suggest always adding two leaves at a time to make this process easier. Repeat this same procedure with all your ribbon strips until you’ve completely covered the heart shape – creating colorful loops of mesh ribbon!
Hang Your Finished Wreath
Once your ribbons are tied onto your metal heart frame, hang up your finished product wherever you like! We think this DIY Valentine’sValentine’s Day Wreath looks especially beautiful hung up near a window or doorway where natural light can bring out its vibrant colors.
Creating a stunning Valentine’sValentine’s Day Wreath using only a few materials like – mesh ribbon and a dollar tree metal heart frame – couldn’tcouldn’t be easier! Whether you choose two colors or multiple shades, this DIY project will brighten up any space while adding an extra special touch for Valentine’sValentine’s Day celebrations.
