It’s Inspiration Friday again and time for another project. This week I worked on a project, Dollar Tree Cheese Trays, for an upcoming Christmas tradition. Over twenty years ago, I started attending a Craft Exchange. I don’t know about you, but I love to go to bazaars, but I know that I can make most of the stuff if only I had the time!
So the idea of a craft exchange sounded like fun to me. There are twelve of us that get together on the first Wednesday of every December. The rules for the Craft Exchange are that each participant makes twelve similar items. We enjoy a dinner provided by the hostess, and then we all get together in a circle and talk about our project. What inspired us? How did we make it? It is always fun to hear about each project. We have had some funny stories over the years, like crazy glue stories, to starting a project only to decide on another project weeks before the exchange. The participants have changed over the years, but the tradition for me has continued each year.
So this year, I decided to make my Dollar Tree Cheese Trays. It was so much fun picking out the different sayings for the trays. I also love these trays because they are practical. You can have them on display as a decoration piece and use them for a cheese tray at your next party!
The Dollar Tree Cheese Trays are a quick and easy project. It only takes only a few supplies and of course, your cutting machine. You know me! I use my Cricut Maker.
- Supplies:
Glass Cutting Board - Permanent Vinyl

Dollar Tree Glass Cheese boards can also be personalized with a family name on it or a monogram. I love the quotes of inspiration or you can add whatever you love. I also have done the larger glass cutting boards. You can check out that post here.
When you are giving this as a gift, think about what would be that person’s favorite thing to receive on their cutting board. It’s safe to say that they’ll love their last name personalized in a fancy way, or a cute saying like I did in the tutorial above.
Another great idea, since Christmas will be here before we know it is to add a fancy Merry Christmas or Season Greetings on it. I preferred the cute sayings since I like to display my all year around.
Design Space has so many great sayings or you can check out LoveSVG.com for other saying or make up your own! The possibilities are unlimited!
I’m so excited about these Dollar Tree Cheese Trays! It will be fun to exchange these with the ladies at the Craft Exchange and to see what they have all made this year. I will be sure to share with you all of the fun ideas next month!
