Christmas in July is the perfect time to start planning for the Christmas season! This week, I’m sharing a tutorial for cute cork coasters. They’re quick and easy to make and a great way to add a personal touch to any decor.
A handmade gift is always the best kind of gift. It shows that you care enough about the person to take the time to make something special, just for them. Hand-painted gifts are a great way to show someone how much you care. The personal touch of a hand-painted gift makes it even more special. When you give a hand-painted gift, you are giving a piece of yourself. The time and effort you put into painting the gift show how much you care about the person. A hand-painted gift is a gift that will be cherished forever.
I love handmade gifts, and what could be more thoughtful than a set of coasters made from cork? Not only are they unique and stylish, but they’re also practical. Cork is a natural material that is durable and absorbent, making it ideal for use as a coaster. Plus, it’s easy to work with, so you can let your creativity shine. Cork coasters are a great option if you’re looking for a fun and rewarding crafting project. And who knows? You might end up with a beautiful and useful addition to your home décor.
Why Cork Coasters
Have you ever wondered why cork is such a popular material for coasters? It turns out that cork has several properties that make it ideal for this purpose:
- Cork is very absorbent, so it can quickly soak up any moisture deposited on it. This helps to prevent water rings from forming on your furniture.
- Cork is soft and cushioning, so it won’t scratch your surfaces.
- Cork is naturally antifungal and antibacterial, so it helps to keep your coaster clean.
So the next time you are looking for a coaster, be sure to consider cork!

Step#1 Determine your Design
I love making these fun little coasters; start by determining the shape or design you want to paint on your coaster. You can hand draw your shapes, or a stencil or stamp would work great too! I like to use painter’s tape.
Step #2 Paint your design
Cork is a natural, durable, and eco-friendly material, making it an ideal surface for painting. Best of all, cork is absorbent, so it won’t warp or damage your paintbrush. When choosing paint for your cork coaster project, be sure to select a brand that is designed for use on absorbent surfaces. This will ensure that your paint adheres properly and doesn’t come off when using your coaster. So go ahead and unleash your inner artist – painting cork coasters is fun and easy.
Step #3 Seal Coaster
Applying Mod Podge to your coasters is a simple way to protect them from water damage and wear. Mod Podge is a sealant that dries clear, so it won’t affect the appearance of your coaster. To apply Mod Podge, first, let the paint dry thoroughly. Then, apply a thin and even coat of Mod Podge over the coaster. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely before using your coaster.
When you give a hand-painted gift, you are giving a piece of yourself. The time and effort you put into painting the gift show how much you care about the person. A hand-painted gift is a gift that will be cherished forever.
